FRP PU Sandwich Panel
Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) PU Sandwich Panel is a type of composite structure that consists of a Polyurethane (PU) core and FRP skins. The core material provides insulation and strength to the panel while the FRP skins protect it from external forces. The combination of these materials creates a durable and lightweight panel that has a range of applications across various industries.

Features of FRP/GRP PU Sandwich Panel
- Heat Insulation
The polyurethane foam core has a closed-cell configuration, so it has extremely low thermal conductivity. It’s only 0.018 w/(m.k) which even lowder than that of XPS foam. The perfect heat insulation performance makes the FRP PU sandwich panel the most popular material for insulated applications. - Lightweight but high strength
The PU foam is a rigid foam with a low density of 80kg/m3. It’s very lightweight core material but with good stiffness.
The FRP skin material is also low in weight but high in strength and stiffness. The bonding of the FRP face sheet with PU foam core makes the composited FRP PU sandwich panel light and strong. - Good Weather Resistance
The anti-aging film on the surface of the FRP plate makes the ultraviolet light almost completely filtered, and the panel life is expected to reach 25 years, which greatly reduces the material cost and construction cost caused by frequent replacement of the plate. - Good Corrossion Resistance
FRP is a good corrosion-resistant material, it has good resistance to atmosphere, water, acids, alkalis, salts, as well as a variety of oils and solvents. It has been applied to all aspects of chemical anti-corrosion, and is replacing carbon steel, stainless steel, wood, non-ferrous metals. - Easy Installation and easy maintenance
The FRP PU sandwich panels can be easily installed with extrusions. It’s self-cleaning surface reduce the cost of maintenance.

Applications of FRP/GRP PU Foam Sandwich Panel
Materials Used of FRP/GRP PU Foam Sandwich Panel
- Top skin materials: gel coated FRP sheet in different colors and finishes, white matt finish and white glossy finish are the most preferred surface.
- Core material: PU foam. The PU foam is a high-quality, cost-effective core material, it’s closed-cell structure provides extremely low thermal conductivity making PU foam the perfect core material for insulation composite panels.
- Back skin material: gel coated FRP sheet with or without gel coating. Customer can choose to use non-gel coated FRP sheet as bottom skin when the bottom skin is not visible after panel installation. The non-gel coated FRP sheet is relatively cheaper than gel coated FRP.
